According to the architect, removing 2 spaces and changing them to carports frees up 432 sq ft (216 sq ft each). This change brings the total floor area coverage down from 8,967.2 sq ft to 8,535 sq ft which is under the maximum allowed of 8,557.8 sq ft Still, I feel that retaining the covered garage spaces would be better for the future owners as well as for the city. I attached the modification request with our justifications for your reference. Please let me know If you need anything else.
