In regards to the concern for being able to make two-step left turns at this location due to the proximity of the
existing median, two-step left turns can be accommodated by most commuter vehicles. I live north of the area
and use the car wash occasionally and I routinely make the two-step left with my long bed 1 ton pickup. Larger
vehicles such as trash trucks and semi's will not be able to make two-step left turns from the site. Most of the
larger vehicles do not tend to make two-way lefts due to the size of their vehicles and comfort level with getting
positioned in the turn lane. They also require a larger gap in traffic due to their slower startup and moving speed
They tend to wait for a full opportunity to make their turn or choose routes that negate the need to make the left
turn.
Also since the median is expected to be extended southward and the left turn ability removed in the future, it did
not seem purposeful to require reduction of the existing median.
I can be at the P&Z hearing if you see a need.
Ward.
