Another objection raised was the four "in your face" three story buildings along Rockcreek Drive which would be the view for some Observatory residences. One thought was to make those two story units and then have four story building along the back of the complex (Precision Drive). Another idea would be to pick up, rotate and "paste" the clubhouse, its associated green space, and some lower garage units along Rockcreek Drive. These could in turn be more easily blocked from view by appropriate landscaping and /or fencing as well as acting as a sound buffer for traffic. This, along with the already planned "green" detention area would give Rockcreek Drive a very nice neighborhood friendly look. I do feel that upscale apartments are the best project for this parcel and I look forward to a well designed complex that will enhance the overall area. I agree that we should all become involved as the process goes forward. Hi, I attended the neighborhood meeting on the above subject on October 27, 2008. As I expected, a lot of the people who showed up were of the "not in my neighborhood" mindset. When I moved into Observatory Village a little over a year ago, I knew that the area was ripe for development and I considered this a plus., I agree with two conclusions of the meeting in that apartments will probably be built and they will be "three story". However, I also feel that an effort should be made to have the complex fit in better with the Observatory Village neighborhood. In our development there are many side -by -side houses that have the same floor plan, but the same exterior elevation and color are never right next to each other. As brought up in the meeting, having, say, different roof lines and/or exterior features would greatly enhance the ascetics of the complex. That way you might not need big numbers file://CADocuments and Settings\tshepard\Local Settings\Temp\GW}00001.HTM 11/4/2008
