I think a more interesting and comfortable arrangement is the latter,
and that's what the sketch is trying to convey.
It also is trying to convey that if this could only be done from Custer
to the point where the sidewalk connects westward to the building, but
not the southern remainder, then that would still be worthwhile.
Any questions or comments, please give Emma or I a call.
thank you

Emma - I think that on the overall developers plans this was a issue in
getting the sidewalk approved as it was submitted, Chase could not
adjust there plans if it means loosing parking spaces. Since the walk
will only be required on one side of the street - I think Chase would
like to keep the plan the way it is, What are your thoughts.
Thanks - Kris

Kris,
I just talked to Clark regarding the sketch he provided you with. I understand that Chase is not
willing to budge on the southern sidewalk because a parking space would be lost. Clark does have a
point that the sidewalk would be much more pedestrian friendly if it were in the center, with shrubs
to the west and the parkway and grass area to the east. You have the option to update just the center
portion between the two driveways to show this better quality walkway (this would not change the
parking). I think this would make a better overall project. You also have the option to leave the plans
as they are.
I will mention Clarks suggestion in my staff report and if Steve Dush decides at the public hearing
that he agrees with Clark's recommendation, he could make the change a condition of approval or he
may not. I really can't say how the hearing officer will react. Steve Dush has seen your plans and has
been in favor of them in the past so my feeling is he won't push it but I can't guarantee you of that.
I know that is sort of a round about answer, hope your options are clear.
Let me know,
Emma
