Dear Resident/Property Owner:
On Monday, April 29, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Ridgeview
Classical School, 1800 South Lemay Avenue, Fort Collins, Colorado, the City of Fort
Collins Community Development and Neighborhood Services Department will conduct a
neighborhood information meeting to discuss a re -development proposal in your
neighborhood. The request is convert the Little Bears Child Care facility at 1900 South
Lemay Avenue into an auxiliary building for the Ridgeview Classical School.
As proposed, the intent is to convert the existing Little Bears Child Care facility into an
expansion for Ridgeview Classical School by remodeling the interior into classrooms
serving grades 7th through 12th. Further, the exterior of Little Bears would be remodeled
to match the existing school. The Little Bears building contains 7,500 square feet and
ten parking spaces. There would be no changes to the total square footage and no
changes to the existing parking lot. The existing playground would be converted to a
grass lawn.
Ridgeview Classical School presently serves 754 students in grades kindergarten
through 12th. The primary purpose of the expansion would be to serve the existing
enrollment. As with all public and public charter schools in Fort Collins, this expansion
would be processed as a Site Plan Advisory Review per Colorado State Statutes.
The list of affected property owners for this public meeting is derived from official
records of the Larimer County Assessor and there may be a lag time between
occupancy and record keeping and rental situations causing some households to be
missed. Please feel free to notify your neighbors concerning this pending meeting so all
neighbors may have the opportunity to attend.
Sincerely:
Ted Shepard
Chief Planner
