Darin and Karen,
I would like to meet as soon as possible with either or both of you regarding the City Council's ruling on the ODP
and PDP appeal last Tuesday. I would be available to explain those concerns at your convenience.
I would also be interested to learn of the process from this point onward (e.g., what are the steps and how long
do they take?).
Sarah Burnett.

Subject: RE: Concerns Regarding Council Appeal Decision
Everyone,
I only accidentally discovered today this effort, ongoing since last Friday, to apparently try to reopen the
hearings on the ODP and POP based upon nothing more than the opponents' disagreement with the appeal
decisions, all of which they had the opportunity to fully air at the appeal hearings.
The opponents' disagreement may have been expressed to Council members, but we know that it has been
expressed to City staff. What could possibly be the justification for, at a very minimum, not informing the
applicant, whose project is at stake, of the conversations and potential impact on the vote to approve the
resolutions? If the situation were reversed, can you even imagine a situation in which the neighborhood
opponents would be kept in the dark about a challenge to these decisions and without any opportunity to
respond in advance?
The email from Sarah Burnett asks that the letter outlining their concerns (which we have not yet even received)
be sent to the Council's leadership team. I would like to know if that has happened. I would also like to know if
any of the opponents' written communications have been given to Council.
Finally, I would ask that we be given the same opportunity as project opponents to talk with Karen, Steve Olt,
Ted Shephard and a representative of the City Attorney's Office about the issues the opponents' have raised so
that there is some semblance of a level playing field moving into next Tuesday.
Thanks.
Lucia
