HomeMy WebLinkAboutREMINGTON ROW (ANNEX) - PDP - PDP110017 - REPORTS - CORRESPONDENCE-HEARING (17)March 20, 2013 City of Fort Collins Planning and Zoning Board Re: Remington Row Project Development Plan Dear Board, I am delivering to you my comments regarding the above mentioned project because I am currently out of town and unable to attend your hearing. However, I hope that you give my comments just as much consideration as those of attendees. I heartedly support this development. I have been a resident and property owner, in this neighborhood for over two decades. I personally reside just a few blocks away on Mathews Street. I also own an apartment building around the corner at 900 South College Avenue. I pass the proposed development location dozens of times a week. The west side of the 700 block of Remington has been an eyesore for years. I am encouraged that a plan to invest into this area has been proposed. I believe multi -family development to be a perfect fit for this area and will serve the neighborhood well. I understand the project will raze two older homes. I am a preservationist myself and own two local landmark properties, The Scott Apartments and The Armstrong Hotel. It is my belief that the buildings proposed to be demolished are not significant or unique historic structures whose loss will be detrimental to the overall historic fabric of the neighborhood. I concur that the one structure to be preserved should be saved and am heartened that the developer has committed to saving this building. I believe it speaks to the developer's sensitivity to historic preservation in our neighborhood. Thank you for hearing my comments regarding this project. I trust you will make a fair and positive decision regarding this project. Steve Levinger Resident/Owner 511 Mathews St. since 1986 Owner 900 South College Avenue "The Scott Apartments" since 2002
