The Beckers' property is located in a low spot along Taft Hill Road. The
only logical drainage path for this area is along the south side of Mr. Beckers
property. During the development review, we had identified the need for a
drainage easement along the south side of the property to accommodate a
drainage pipe in the future. This area ponds during minor storm events on both
sides of Taft Hill Road.
I've been told by our planning department that since we were recommending
denial of this project, the condition to grant this easement was never made and
the project was approved by the commissioners. It is my recommendation to
the City of Fort Collins to pursue a drainage easement if possible along the
south side of Mr. Beckers property during the annexation process.
