Subject: Proposed Temple on Trilby
The meeting last night was very informative for those of us who have homes in the vicinity of
the proposed temple.
The meeting made it clear that the neighborhood will certainly be affected by the new
construction and increase in traffic.
I would appreciate it if you could forward the concerns noted below to the approval board:
Light pollution: Please restrict the planned lighting for this site - with respect for those of us who
live close by and for the -natural habitats that will be affected. This site should not have more lighting
than other religious sites or public schools.
Height restrictions: Although they said the temple would be no more than a 2 story height, it was
noted that the spire would be approximately the height of a 10 story building. This height is way out
of line for a residential neighborhood that has no more than two story buildings. This would clearly
mark it as a landmark for the city- whether or not it is intended to be. Please do whatever is possible
to restrict the height of this spire to something reasonable, like the spire on their church which is just
across the street from the site.
