Subject: Proposed Development Change for 516 Deines Ct.
Dear Mr. Olt,
I'm writing regarding the proposed occupancy expansion for 516 Deines Ct. I've already talked
to 6 or 7 households in the neighborhood and we all oppose this plan.
I understand we should gather and submit a petition against this change, and that a hearing will
be held for those within 800 yards of the property. We plan to submit the petition and attend the
hearing with as many stakeholders as we can get. I imagine there will be a good turnout.
I have a few questions I'd like to ask:
1. How is the decision made whether to accept or deny a proposal like this?
2. Who makes the final decision (the Council or another entity)?
3. Is there any mechanism to appeal the decision once it's been made?
4. What does it take to stop one of these?
5. How many neighborhood residents do we need to stop it?
6. Is there any supporting information we can provide that will help our case against the
proposal?
7. Are there any other actions you can think of that we should pursue?
8. What have other residents done who have been successful at blocking these expansions?
9. When will we know the date of the hearing?
10. When will the decision be made?
Thank you very much for your time. I know it is your job to be an impartial body in these
matters, but we greatly appreciate any information you can provide. In the meantime, I invite
you to visit our street to get an idea of how a large occupancy property would affect the safety
and character of our neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Eric and Linda Pendergrass
