Subject: Islamic Center Parking Agreement
Hi Ted,
Last Thursday evening at Plymouth Congregational you asked me to email you my question, so here goes. I'm
starting with an assumption that for the construction to be approved with only 47 parking places that the city will
want to see a solid, long term agreement between Plymouth Congregational Church and the Islamic Center that
uses Plymouth parking spaces to fulfill the additional requirements. If this assumption is incorrect, maybe my
question is irrelevant. We at Plymouth are very interested in accommodating the Islamic Center and have had
discussions with them. There are no points of contention and there is not really even a "negotiation".
However, we have limited resources and time so we want to get it acceptable to the city on the first pass, not
iterate. So my question is this: Specifically what terms and conditions would the city require in a joint agreement
that would allow approval for the Islamic Center building? We don't need advice on how to craft an agreement in
general and are not seeking legal advice. We just want to satisfy you, the city, and want to know what will do
that?
Maybe you will be sending this to a city attorney? If so, I'm willing to have an email or phone conversation with
that person so you don't have to be the interface if that is good for you.
Many thanks in advance,
Larry McCulloch
