Dear Ted,
We were out of town and just got the notice about the Islamic Center at 925 West Lake Street.

Had we been home, we would have come to the meeting. We are totally opposed to this construction
for the following reasons.
We wish to express our concern over the building of this center close to CSU and to our apartments. We
are not in favor of the construction for the following reasons.
• The treatment of young girls and women in the Islamic culture, they are treated as second class
citizens
• This construction is too close to the campus, and young women going to college should not have
to be subjected to this type of control , as it sends the wrong message about treatment of men
and women
• The Center should be placed in a less dense neighborhood as it will lower property value in our
area
• We do not want this center so close to our apartments; they are the only culture that expects
the rest of us to conform to their beliefs.
Thanks for your consideration, and we hope that this Islamic Center will be relocated to another area
away from campus and our neighborhood. We are totally opposed to the construction of this Center.
