Subject: Transfort Expansion...
Hi Ted,
As an adjacent landowner, Natural Areas received a notice of the Transfort Expansion. In advance of
your public hearing tonight, we have a few thoughts for feedback:
1. Any landscaping that could be done to transition from the "built environment" to our adjacent
Prairie Dog Meadow NA would help buffer the area to wildlife and improve aesthetics.
2. We would strongly urge Transfort to look at ways minimize nighttime lighting with the expansion
as that does impact wildlife that move at night. In addition to that, if the City is going to meet its
carbon reduction goal, reduced nighttime lighting has to be part of that solution.
3. Finally, depending on timing of construction and given prairie dogs inhabit the area, a burrowing
owl survey should be considered in construction occurs in the late spring or summer. We can
help/answer questions when the time comes around.
Thanks for the opportunity to comment, let me know if anyone has questions.
