It is a development proposal that is strongly out of line with the spirit of the Laurel School Historic District and out of character with the neighborhood. At a time when the EastsideNVestside development committees are just being reconstituted to begin all over again to try to make sense of what guidelines are necessary to maintain this "jewel" of Fort Collins, it would be extremely disheartening to those giving their time to realize that this type of proposal might be approved prior to any guidelines being adopted. As the planning and zoning board realized when they voted unanimously (and wisely) to exclude the Historic District from the PDODD pilot program, the character of these neighborhoods, once changed, can never be restored. I beg you to proceed with caution when it comes to altering that character. > I would also urge you to strongly consider including the West side of Remington street as lying within the boundaries of the Laurel School Historic District. Though it doesn't appear to on the map, it is very much a part of the character of the neighborhood and deserves to be treated as such. > Best regards, > Lisa Demberg > 818-261-9355
