Hi Dave,
Thanks for coming to staff review this morning. Please see the attached letter, I have the comments that we
talked about that need addressed highlighted with some notes for your information. The rest of the comments are
just FYIs.
I understand your frustration about this process, but this is not merely a garage as you stated. Once "habitable
space" is added, which is defined as any accessory building with water/sewer service in this zone district, it
requires this level of review rather than just a building permit like a typical garage would require. Staff is only
reviewing the plans as we are required. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding that Susan had only seen these plans
once, what she was referring to is some engineering details are not required until after hearing, so she was only
reviewing this level of detail in this round.
The items that need addressed should be a quick fix on the plans and once Susan has verified her concerns are
addressed, please submit one set of mylar plans for the planning director's signature then recording. Make sure
the Ownership signature block is complete before submitting the mylars to us. Have the owner sign in a
bold black pen, like a fine Sharpie, not a ball point pen.
As I mentioned this morning, I will be out of the office July 4 — 15, so if you complete the changes and have the
mylars ready during that time, another planner (Steve Olt) will be completing the process for you. Steve Olt will
be available if you have questions during that time.
