Ryan, Andrew, after reviewing the variance request and Matt's traffic evaluation, the traffic portion of the variance request
is acceptable. Therefore Traffic Operations supports granting the vehicular portion of the variance request.

Subject: Observatory Village Parcels A & B Variance Request
Andrew, Ward and Matt,
Attached you will find the revised variance letter requesting a variance from the intersection spacing requirements for
the intersection of street A and Galileo with respect to Lady Moon and the alley access. The analysis by Matt Delich, of
Galileo Drive traffic volume and pedestrian level of service is also included. Please take a look and let us know of your
official decision to support the variance required for this layout so we can proceed with design.
As for the pedestrian level of service study, Matt Delich's study indicates that the pedestrian connection from the east
side of Cinquefoil Lane through the site is not necessary due to an A/M ratio of 1.06 or 1.05 depending upon the
destination. Because of this, it appears that the layout is in compliance with the desired "Directness" of pedestrian
routes and therefore no variance is required. Please respond if there is an objection to the layout also attached to the
variance letter.
Thank you very much and have a wonderful weekend,
Ryan Banning, P.E.
