HomeMy WebLinkAbout1101 W. OAK ST., ACCESSORY BUILDING W/HABITABLE SPACE - PDP - 22-09 - CORRESPONDENCE - (7)To Whom It may Concern:
We received the "request for an accessory structure with habitable space located at the
rear of 1101 W Oak Street" in our neighborhood. The number of trucks and business
equipment that already resides at that location troubles me. Often the trucks park in the
Washington School parking lot, especially during the summer and on weekends. I
assume they want the new'structure as an addition for their business, which seems to
already operate out of their house. I feel this is an inappropriate use of single-family
zoned area. I don't think it is so much that fact that they are running a business out to
their house, as it is the density and type of business.
I will say that in other regards they have up -graded the existing house and seem to be
taking good care of at least the front property.
I am writing this anonymously because they have posted what I think are somewhat
threatening anti gun control signs in their front yard during the past election (much more
pointed and threatening than the Charlton Heston famous quote). I would not want to be
on the end of retaliatory, response to objections to their request.

I received a letter regarding the request for an accessory structure with habitable space
located on the rear of the lot at 1101 W. Oak Street. As a potentially affected property
owner, I support this request.
Such a structure has the potential to improve the quality of life in our neighborhood, as it
will likely help to buffer the traffic noise that routinely emanates from Shields Street.
Additionally, I support the request for extending water and sewer lines to the structure.
Increasing the accessibility to water and sewer at the rear of the lot facilitates disposal
of potentially unsightly wastes and maintenance of landscaping and structures; again
adding to the quality of life in our neighborhood.
If you require any additional input, please feel free to call me at the number listed in the
letterhead.
Sincerely,
John Johnston
