HomeMy WebLinkAboutWATER'S EDGE @ RICHARD'S LAKE - MOD. OF STAND. - 58-86I - CORRESPONDENCE - (18)RECEIVED FEB 2 g 2006 To: Steve Olt - City Planner CURRENT PLANNING From: Donna Forney Date: Feb. 27, 2006 Subject: Water's Edge Development I have received information that the acreage directly south of my property is to be a developed to include as many as 5 patio homes per acre. This development is adjacent to other properties where there is an average of one home per two acres. This has been a rural area forever. I further understand that the larger estate homes will be adjacent to Hearthfire and will include open space. Why is that? When we all bought our homes in Serramonte, we were told that the property to the south would not be developed into high density housing, but apparently that is no longer the case with the city planning department. All our property values will go down, but our taxes will stay high. Why can't the high density housing go to the center of the new development and leave the outside for trails and open space. We already have a road there and it is used heavily by walkers, joggers and people simply walking their dogs. It's a wonderful place for both Hearthfire and Serramonte. I am resigned to the fact that the land will be developed, but please reconsider how you are going to do it.
