This letter serves as the City of Fort Collins' Park Planning and Developments intent to work
with the Mason Street North Development for stormwater improvements to be located on Lee
Martinez Park.
Our understanding of the concept is that an existing stormwater pipe will be reactivated to
receive stormwater from this project. A small water quality pond will also be developed as
part of the project. The pond will be developed just to the west of the existing wetlands
located north of the Howes Outfall structure. The water quality pond and pipe reactivation
have been explained to staff as being small items that should not impact the operation of the
park.
Restoration of park areas disturbed during construction will be the responsibility and cost of
the development. Work would include such items as irrigation system adjustments, sod repairs
and other landscape features impacted by the development. The intent is to restore disturbed
areas to their original condition.
