Subject: meeting regarding Pedersen Auto Plaza
I think it is essential that we, as staff, have a meeting as soon as possible
to discuss the issues on the Pedersen Auto site that were brought up at staff
review on Wednesday, Feb. 4th. The applicant, Dana Lockwood, has requested a
meeting with staff to discuss the items covered in the attached letter from me
(hard copy on the way to each of you). It is important that we have a
consistent, unified position on each of the items.
I will admit that the issue of the width of the public access easement on this
property is something that I felt we had come to an agreed position on in a
meeting with Mr. Lockwood on Dec. 9th. My recollection is that we could work
with about 9' on this property and somehow acquire the additional 3' to 6' on
the property to the south. My concern is that his revisions reflect the City's
direction about the access. This understanding appears to be in question and,
therefore, it is important that we meet as staff prior to meeting with Mr.
Lockwood. He is wanting to move quickly to avoid any significant delays (in
representing his client).
