I talked with Bill Wyatt finally. He still doesn't believe that the rail station will happen anytime soon. I told him about the "Building Community Choices" program and said we thought it could occur within 8 years, maybe sooner, and he asked if it would be ok to quote me in the paper as having that belief!! (I asked not to be quoted.) I said we thought we could avoid the landscaping by using "alternative compliance", but we would need a fence. He said htere was already a fence there on UBC"s side. I think we also thought there was a fence. He thought the light poles could just be put further north in the lot and wouldnt have to be moved later and he will talk to Dana Lockwood about that. he had no problem with removing the asphalt and corb when we asked. pedersen would also reinstall curbing so there would be no overhang onto the easement but he was concerned about loosing the perpendicular parking along the south side. They dont want to loose that. So, I mentioned trying to move everything north a little (as Steve mentioned) and he was going to talk to Dana about that. I dont remember if we were going to require Pedersen to install any landscape materials along the south side when we occupy the easement. Were we? I didnt talk about that with Bill.
