RE: Timan Annexation and Zoning Request
A couple of comments and questions regarding the Timan Annexation and Zoning
request:
1. If the City is not supporting the rezoning request from C, Commercial, to NC,
Neighborhood Commercial, for the area to the north and west of this property
(and I have not heard that we are), why then should the City support NC zoning
for this property? The Structure Plan shows the area as part of the S. College
Avenue commercial corridor.
2. A small, about 4-acre, parcel of NC zoning would not help implement City Plan
goals for a neighborhood center. Such centers are envisioned to be 15 - 20 acres
in size and developed with 150,000 to 200,000 square feet of retail and service
uses.
3. If the City is supporting the rezoning request from C, Commercial, to NC,
Neighborhood Commercial, for the area to the north and west of this property,
then the City should support NC zoning for this property.
