This letter is in reference to staff comments on December 191h, 2008 regarding the above
referenced project. This letter is for the purpose of requesting a variance to the City Standard
that requires a maximum slope of 4:1 in non -paved areas.. We would like to request that the
side slopes of the detention pond/wetland basin to be increased to 3:1.
To maximize developable space while maintaining the, natural characteristics of the site, the
banks are proposed to be graded in at a 3:1 side slope where a flat pond bottom will provide on -
site wetland mitigation. Three benefits will be achieved by this request:
Deter pedestrians from accessing the wetlands
Heavily vegetated banks will reduce the cost of maintenance due to mowing
Increased mitigation area
