Dear Mayor Doug;
In July 2007, a partner and I put a 3 acre commercial site, located at JFK Parkway and
Pavilion Lane, under contract.
Our first meeting with Steve Olt took place on September 17, 2007 and we met again
with City staff on October 8, 2007 for the `Conceptual Review'.
We had our neighborhood information meeting on November 14, 2007 and our final
meeting for the Staff Project Review took place on, December 19, 2007. Our proposal
was then placed on the consent agenda for the January 17, 2008 P & Z meeting.
This meeting took place last night and our project, "The Plaza at Pavilion Lane", was
approved .... a very short four months from first meeting to Planning & Zoning approval.
We would like to commend you and all of the staff involved for the very timely and
professional manner in which our project was handled. Steve Olt in particular was
instrumental in moving the project forward and keeping us advised of the process and
all the required documentation.
We hear stories all the time about the'time consuming delays' with the City of Fort
Collins but in the dealings that I have had — you will remember our flood plain `big
problem' at 701 Parliament Court, to a building permit I have currently for 621 Roma
Valley Drive and now to "The Plaza" approval, I have found the staff to be very
proficient, helpful and cognizant of my needs. Congratulations!
