Hendricks Communities, developers of the Caribou and Fox Meadows apartments in Fort Collins, have proposed 180 units in 12 buildings, a clubhouse, swimming pool, cabana and garages on rough- ly 10 acres. Neighbors have formed the Ridgewood Hills/Shenandoah Neighborhood Council to keep informed about the proposal, launched a Facebook page and submitted a petition signed by about 400 homeowners to raise their concerns with the city's building department, which will ultimately be asked to sign off on the project. "In talking with neighbors, there was a whole group of us who wanted to research this further and see what could be done, not necessarily to block development but scale it back and minimize the impact on the neighborhood," said coun- cil founding member Joy Short. "We are definitely not against the affordable hous- ing part at all. Our main con- cern is traffic. We have a school in the neighborhood at one of the main entrances and exits to the neighborhood. We just want to keep the kiddos safe." In a letter sent to residents, the council cited concerns about the additional traffic, drainage from the complex into the .
