I believe road/right-of-way width is not the only criteria for deeming a road a Connector Local, and I will provide an analysis of Triangle's designation later this week. Regardless, both Avondale and Triangle far exceed the vpd volume criteria for a Connector Local, under current conditions. Thank you. Possibly he does not understand or accept that Triangle is classified as a Collector Street and therefore can accommodate the projected traffic volumes. I don't disagree that it is unfortunate Triangle was built in the past with a cross section narrower than today's Collector standard. It is only missing bike lanes between the two classifications and bike lanes do not dictate acceptable traffic volumes. It's not misunderstanding, just different understandings. Does not look like a reply to Mr. McKean was requested so I will not be creating one. I wanted to give you a heads up that I will be submitting clarification on one of our report's findings regarding existing traffic volumes on Avondale and Triangle. I think there was a misunderstanding among City traffic engineers about how we classified these streets in our report. Before I send over my comments/questions, I need to review the updated traffic study, and plan to come to your offices this week to do that. Once I review the updated study, I will forward you and the City traffic engineers our follow-up questions. I still believe there is a significant inconsistency with the Larimer County street standards and existing volumes, and would like to understand better how the City typically addresses this issue when reviewing development proposals. If the existing traffic counts in updated traffic study are consistent with the initial study (dated December 2010), then I would encourage City staff to review our Traffic Impacts section again (attached for reference), along with the definitions/criteria of Connector Local and Residential Local streets in the Larimer County standards (Figures
