The structures WILL require all NFPA 13 automatic sprinklers, not a combination of NFPA 13 and 13R. My error on that one. The residential occupancy is an accessory use. It's a commercial building that just so happens to have residential. If you have further sprinkler questions, let me know, and I can put you in touch with our sprinkler guru. 2. Flow test — We have no records of a recent flow test for the fire hydrant at 412 N. Meldrum St. Nearby hydrants have had tests of > 1,500 gpm with a residual pressure around 80 psi. HOWEVER, I can't use that information to ascertain if "your" hydrant is on the same water line, so I can't say for certain that you would meet the minimum requirement of at least 1,500 gpm at 20 psi residual. Contact Glenn Schlueter with the Fort Collins Water Department, 970.224.6065, to see if he has a recent test for you. If not, he can arrange one. 3. I'm attaching a couple diagrams of remote fire department connections. One is from NFPA 24 Appendix A and the other is a Fort Collins Utilities diagram. The diagrams should help you get an idea of where we're going with FDCs. The comment I would make if this were a plan submission is: FIRE DEPARTMENT CONNECTION: Fire department connections shall be installed remote from the buildings, and located on the street or fire lane side of buildings, fully visible and recognizable from the street or nearest point of fire department vehicle access or as otherwise approved by the fire code official. Please don't hesitate to contact me with more questions.
