Kechter Townhomes PDP – 3620 Kechter Road
Existing Tree Removal Feasibility Letter
This letter is intended to supplement the Mitigation Plan included in the Kechter Townhomes Project
Development Plan submittal. There are three (3) species of trees on site including: cottonwood,
ponderosa pine and blue spruce.
As depicted on the mitigation plan, a total of two (2) trees are to be removed. The reason for tree
removal is due to the proposed development of Kechter Townhomes located at 3620 Kechter Road. The
following trees are proposed to be removed: Tree #2 and #11 (as associated with the Tree Mitigation
List on the Tree Mitigation Plan). Further explanation for the removal of these trees is found below.
Tree #
2. A ponderosa pine in FAIR+ condition to be removed due to site development conflicts
with Street B construction.*
11. A blue spruce in FAIR condition to be removed due to site development conflicts with
grading.*
*These trees are being removed for the reasons listed above and for the community need of affordable
house as called out in the city plan.
A more detailed depiction of the location of trees which are being removed in relation to the proposed
site plan can be found on the Mitigation Plan included in this submittal. To mitigate for the removed
trees which have been deemed to provide significant value by the City Forester, replacement trees will
be provided at the increased size per Division 3.2.1 (F)(1) of the Fort Collins Land Use Code.
