HomeMy WebLinkAbout001 - 01/12/1929 - AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF 5% REGISTERED WARRANTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,536.60 FOR MUNICIPAL RAILWAY ORDIITAI\tCE L\TG 1929 BEIITG AN DC?GETTCY ORDIN TCE AUTHORI"ING ThE ISSUUTCE OF FIVE PER CENT RErISTERED VARRkNTS IN THE AT,,OLTTT OF g 13,536.60 FOR YOUICIPAT, RAIL '4Y ETIERGENCY FUND WHEREAS, Since the adoption of the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st , 1929, a,., emergency and unforeseen contingency has arisen whereby it has become and _s necessary to pay Thirteen thousand five hundred thirty- six and 60/100 (� 13,536 60 ) Dollars for the purpose of paying Irunicipal Railway Emergency experse and the public necessity requires an additional appropriation of public funds therefor thei efore BE IT ORDAI1IED BY TqE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TORT COLLIhS Section 1 That there be and nereby is appropriated out of the general revenues of the City of Fort Collins for the years 1930 1931, 1932 1933 1934, 19o5 1936 and 1937 unless taken up Drior thereto the sum of Thirteen thousand five hundred thirty-six and 60/100 ($ 13,536.60 ) Dollars, one-eighth of said amount +ogether with all accrued interest thereon, to be paid each of said years beginning it 1930 to be used to pay for Hunicipal Railway Emergency expense , which said sum, when this ordinance takes effect shall be credited on the books of tl)e City Clerk and City Treasurer to Ijunicipal Tiailway Emer;ency Fund and registered five (50�) per cent warrants of the City of Fort Collins shall be issued to cover said amount Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health peace and safety, and this ordinance shall tie effect upon its passage and publication, -1- r s � under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council at a reg<llar meeting held this 12th day of January, A D 1929 o issioner o a S P an Ex-0 icio Vayor ATTEST City C ei STATE, OF COLORADO ) SS COUITTY OF LARIPE' ) I A J RQSENOW, City Clerk of uhe City of Fort Collins do hereby certifv and declare that tre foregoing ordirance con- sistin; of two (2 ) sections was duly broposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 12th day of January A D 1929 and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier a daily newspaper and the official n.ewsoaoer of the City of Fort Collins by the unanimous vote of all members of the Gi-ty Council, as an emergency ordinance in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter and thereafter and on to-wit the 18th day of January A D 1929 said Ordinance No 1 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins Colorado InT WIZi,ESS WREREOF I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City this 18th day of January A D 1929 City Clerk -2-
