HomeMy WebLinkAbout2019-076-07/02/2019-ADOPTING THE 2019-2021 CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES RESOLUTION 2019-076 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ADOPTING THE 2019-2021 CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES WHEREAS,the Fort Collins City Council met at a Council Retreat on May 3 and 4, 2019, to initiate and discuss plans for their new Council term; and WHEREAS,at the Retreat,Council worked to develop Council priorities to guide the work of'the City organization over the next two years("Council Priorities"); and WHEREAS, the Council Priorities supplement the City's Strategic Plan, City Plan and other adopted plans and policies and the funding priorities embodied in the adopted budget for 2019 2020; and WHEREAS, the Council is committed to continuing longstanding and important City efforts around climate action;smart cities,broadband,community policing,and engaging Larimer County around addressing key infrastructure with the City's Growth Management Area; and WHEREAS, City Council may amend the list of retreat priorities from time to time, based on community needs, available resources, and new opportunities. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,that the Council hereby adopts as its priorities for action during the 2019-2021 Council term the following initiatives within the seven Key Outcome Areas to supplement approved Strategic Plan,Budgeting for Outcomes and other approved programs and plans. 1. Neighborhood Livability& Social Health: a. Low income benefits/rebates streamlining and consolidation; b. Equity and inclusion, C. Optiriiization of alleys outside downtown; d. Mobile home park preservation and resident protections; and e. Affordable and achievable housing strategies. 2. Economic Health: a. Affordable and accessible childcare; b. Undergrounding of electric infrastructure (transmission and distribution); C. Strategies that create community jobs; and d. Small business plan. 3. Transportation & Mobility: a. Encourage and increase Transfort use/additional bus rapid transit(BRT) corridors. -1- 4. Culture&Recreation: Provide diverse cultural and recreational amenities. a. Equitable participation in culture and recreation programs;and b. Park refresh/future needs. 5. Environmental Health: a. Reduce plastic pollution; b. Protect and enhance instream river flows; C. Improved air quality; and d. Mitigate impacts of oil and gas encroachment into Growth Management Area. 6. High Performing Government: a. Effective, innovative and high-performing board; b. Reimagine community engagement; C. City financial sustainability; and d. Reimagine boards and commissions.
