OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, STATE OF COLORADO,
REGARDING THE MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AND SIGNS
ON STATE ROUTES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
WHEREAS, Section 42-2-135 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes, as amended,
provides that the State shall install, operate, maintain, and control, at
the State's expense, all traffic control devices on the State Highway
System within cities and incorporated towns, and
WHEREAS, the State does not have the necessary equipment and manpower
to operate and maintain traffic control devices located on State highways
within the City of Fort Collins, and
WHEREAS, the City possesses the necessary skills and equipment to
perform such services
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
Section 1 . That certain Agreement, by and between the City of Fort
Collins and the State Department of Highways, Division of Highways, State
of Colorado, providing for the City to perform maintenance services for the
State in exchange for compensation be, and it hereby is, approved
Section 2 That the City Manager be, and hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City
Passed and adopted at regular meeting of the Council held this 1st day
of May, A D 1979
