RESOLUTION 79-45
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO
SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
DIVISION OF HIGHWAY SAFETY, STATE
OF COLORADO, FOR THE FUNDING OF
AN ALCOHOL-DRIVING COUNTERMEASURES
PROJECT
WHEREAS, in December of 1977, the City was awarded funding for the
administration of an alcohol-driving countermeasures project, which
project was renewed for a second year in 1978, and
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins, this program has been highly successful in increasing the
detection and apprehension of drinking drivers and in contributing to
overall highway safety, and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the Council of the City of Fort Collins
it is appropriate that this project be continued
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and
directed to submit an application to the Division of Highway Safety,
State of Colorado, for continuation of the alcohol-driving countermeasures
program, it being understood that should the project be approved, that
the City would be obligated to pay nineteen percent (19%) of the total
project cost or $4,941 00
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 15th day of May, A D 1979
