RESOLUTION 79-47
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO LEASE A BUILDING
LOCATED IN CITY PARK TO THE MOUNTAIN PRAIRIE
GIRL SCOUT COUNCIL FOR UTILIZATION AS
A RECREATIONAL FACILITY
WHEREAS, the Fort Collins Girl Scout Association, the predecessor
in interest to the Mountain Prairie Girl Scout Council , Inc , has
previously leased from the City of Fort Collins that certain one-story
frame building located in City Park for recreational purposes for Girl
Scouts of Fort Collins and vicinity and as a headquarters for said
association, and
WHEREAS, said association has improved such building and has
taken good care of the same during the term of its lease, and
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins it is appropriate that the City continue to lease the
above-described facility to the G7rl Scout Council
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That the City of Fort Collins be authorized and
directed to enter into a ten-year lease agreement with the Mountain Prairie
Girl Scout Council, Inc , for that certain property located in City Park
in the City of Fort Collins and presently utilized as the Girl Scout
recreational facility
Section 2 That the consideration for the afore-mentioned lease
agreement be the nominal sum of One Dollar ($1 00) per year
Section 3 That the City Attorney be directed to draft an
appropriate legal instrument which safeguards the interest of the City
of Fort Collins while at the same time, providing for the lease unto the
Girl Scout's Council of the above-described premises
Section 4 That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute said agreement on behalf of the City of Fort Collins
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City
of Fort Collins held this 15th day of May, 1979
