RESOLUTION 79-50
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
URGING THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF RECLAMATION
TO COMPLETE ACTION ON THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
STATEMENT FOR THE WINDY GAP TRANSMOUNTAIN DIVERSION WATER PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District, Municipal
Subdistrict, is proceeding with the °Windy Gap Transmountain Diversion
Water Project," and
WHEREAS, construction on this project cannot proceed until the En-
vironmental Impact Statement is subjected to public comment, and
WHEREAS, continued delay in the processing of the Environmental Impact
Statement is resulting in a financial loss to the Municipal Subdistrict in
the amount of TWO HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($233,000) per
month.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the United States Bureau of Reclamation be, and it hereby is,
strenuously urged to do all things necessary and proper to forthwith
complete the processing of the Windy Gap Environmental Impact Statement, it
being specifically recognized that the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy
District Municipal Subdistrict is presently incurring monthly losses in the
approximate amount of TWO HUNDRED THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($233,000).
