OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO A LEASE COST SHARING
AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY
FOR AN ELECTRIC AND HYBRID VEHICLE DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to the United States Department of Energy Program
Announcement EW-79-D-08-0001, the City of Fort Collins submitted a proposal
to participate in a state and local government electric and hybrid vehicle
demonstration project, and
WHEREAS, said proposal was accepted by the United States Department of
Energy; and
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the Council of the City of Fort
Collins, participation to this project will significantly advance the
City's efforts towards improving their quality and demonstrating the
feasibility of alternative modes of vehicular transportation
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and
directed to execute an agreement with the United States Department of
Energy under the terms of which FOUR HUNDRED SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND SIX
HUNDRED FORTY-ONE DOLLARS ($464,641 ) would be made available for the
acquisition, operation, and evaluation of electric and hybrid vehicles
under the responsibility of the City of Fort Collins Of the amount
prev,ously mentioned, the City of Fort Collins would be responsible for the
payment of TWO HUNDRED TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS
($225,285) in in-kind services over a period of four (4) years
Section 2 That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and
directed to make appropriate provisions for these in-kind services in
future budgets
Passed and adopted on a regular meeting of the City Council held this
5th day of June, A D 1979
