HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-069-07/24/1979-AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH BLACK & VEATCH CONSULTING ENGINEERS FOR THE PUP RESOLUTION 79-69 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH BLACK & VEATCH CONSULTING ENGINEERS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING A STUDY OF STREAM CLASSIFICATIONS AND AMMONIA NITROGEN LIMITS WHEREAS, in the construction of municipal wastewater treatment facili- ties, the Environmental Protection Agency posed some advanced wastewater treatment (AWT) design requirements, and WHEREAS, these advanced wastewater treatment design requirements utilize approximately four million gallons per day of secondary treatment capacity and are of questionable value, and WHEREAS, as a result of challenges to the State and the Environmental Protection Agency concerning stream classifications, the State is now proposing new stream classifications based upon newly adopted stream standards, and WHEREAS, it is critical that the City determine the financial impact of these classifications and standards shall have on the City NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows Section 1 That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Black & Veath Consulting Engineers for the purposes of performing the aforementioned analysis and impact study Section 2 That the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to expend no more than $14,000 00 for the aforementioned study Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Fort Collins at an adjourned meeting of the City Council this 24th day of July, A D 1979 Mayor ATTES City Clerk- /�
