OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS,
COLORADO ADOPTING CERTAIN FINDINGS RELATING
TO THE PURPOSES AND FUNDING OF THE FORT
COLLINS DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, A LOCAL
DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
WHEREAS, it is the considered opinion of the Council of
the City of Fort Collins that substantial public purposes will
be advanced and promoted by the proposed operation of the Fort
Collins Development Company, a local development corporation,
and
WHEREAS, given the finding of sufficient public purposes
and effects, it is appropriate to fund the Fort Collins Develop-
ment Company, a local development corporation, with City monies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO
Section 1 The Council hereby deterranes the following
public purposes and goals will be advanced and promoted by the
operation of the Fort Collins Development Company, a local
development corporation
A The making of loans to small businesses located
or desiring to locate in the central business district for the
purpose of rehabilitating the structures in which such small
businesses are located or are to be located;
B The prevention of further deterioration of
structures located within the central business district,
C. The Promotion of the public health, safety and
welfare of the residents of the City of Fort Collins by the
revitalization of an area previously determined to have been
blighted and otherwise deteriorated.
Section 2 That in accordance with the above findings, it
is hereby determined to be appropriate that the Fort Collins
Development Company, a local development corporation, be funded
with City monies, provided that a contract for services between
the local development corporation and the City is entered into
in accordance with the within resolution.
Passed and adopted at an ad3ourned mee ng of the Council
of the City of Fort Collins this 24th day October, 1978.
