OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH LARIMER COUNTY FOR JOINT FUNDING
OF THE APPRAISAL OF PROPERTY FOR CITY AND COUNTY
GOVERNMENTAL PURPOSES
WHEREAS, heretofore the City Council of the City of Fort Collins and
the Board of Commissioners of Larimer County have entered into an Inter-
governmental Agreement wherein the City and County have agreed to develop a
comprehensive master plan for future governmental facilities to be located
in the block bounded on the south by Mountain Avenue, on the west by Howes
Street, on the north by LaPorte Avenue, and the east by Mason Street
(Block), and have further agreed to begin negotiations for acquisition of
property in the Block, and
WHEREAS, the City Council , together with the Board of Commissioners of
Larimer County, has formulated a policy for land acquisition which will
achieve the goals of the above-referenced Intergovernmental Agreement at
the least cost to the taxpayers of the City, and
WHEREAS, as a part of the policy for such land acquisition, it is
necessary to obtain aopraisals of all property located within said Block,
said appraisals to be jointly funded by the City and the County, and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of the foregoing, it is in the best interest
of the citizens of the City of Fort Collins that the City and County enter
into an Intergovernmental Agreement whereby the cost of obtaining apprai-
sals of all property located within the aforesaid Block shall be jointly
and equally funded by both the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized and
directed to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement with Larimer County,
Colorado, whereby the cost of appraisals for all property located within
the aforesaid Block shall be jointly and equally funded by the City of Fort
Collins and Larimer County, Colorado, and that the City shall act as the
contracting party with any appraiser mutually selected and approved by the
County and the City for providing appraisal services for said properties in
said Block
