HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-120-09/07/1982-AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE SECTION 3 GRANT UNDER THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION AC RESOLUTION 82- 120 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLIHS AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE SECTION 3 GRANT UNDEP THE URBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION ACT OF 1964, AS AMENDED WHEREAS, the Secretary of Transportation is authorized to make grants for mass transportation projects, and WHEREAS, the contract for financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the applicant, including the provision by it of the local share of projects costs, and WHEREAS, it is required by the U S Department of Transportation in accord with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that in connection with the filing` of an application for assistance under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, as amended, the applicant give an assurance that it will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the U S Department of Transportation requirements thereunder, and WHEREAS, upon the commitment of local matching funds in the amount of $50,000, an amendment would be permitted to the City' s Grant, said amend- ment to provide additional Federal monies under said grant, for capital assistance in the amount of $200,000, and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the City that said amendment be filed by the City Manager on behalf of the City of Fort Collins NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, COLORADO AS FOLLOWS Section 1 That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file an amendment on behalf of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado with the U S Department of Transportation to aid in additional federal funding for Transfort improvements Section 2 That the City Manager is authorized to execute and file with such application an assurance or any other document required by the U S Department of Transportation effectuating the purposed of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Section 3 That the City Manager is authorized to furnish such additional information as the U S Department of Transportation may require in connection with the application of the project Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the u Ly Council held this 7th day of September, 1982 F Mayor ATTEST "nLA2 City Clerk
