HomeMy WebLinkAbout1983-182-10/18/1983-DIRECTING THE STORM DRAINAGE BOARD AND THE CITY STAFF TO CONSIDER THE IMPACTS OF THE CANAL IMPORTATI RESOLUTION 83- 182 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS DIRECTING THE STORM DRAINAGE BOARD AND THE CITY STAFF TO CONSIDER THE IMPACTS OF THE CANAL IMPORTATION BASIN MASTER PLAN ON PROPERTIES WITHIN THAT BASIN AND TO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR IMPLEMENTATION THEREIN WHEREAS, a master plan for certain storm drainage improvements within the Canal Importation Basin has been previously adopted by the City Council , and WHEREAS, recent land development proposals, i e the Landmark PUD and SID seek to implement certain recommended improvements contained within that master plan in the near future, and WHEREAS, other improvements recommended within the master plan will have significant impacts on other properties adjacent to the Landmark PUD/SID namely that of Dr Robert Young, and WHEREAS, Or Young has appeared before the Council and expressed his concern that certain proposed storm drainage improvements will adversely impact his property, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council that any public improve- ments constructed have the greatest positive benefit to the community with the least negative impact upon the individual citizen NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That the Council directs the Storm Drainage Board and the City Staff to hear and receive comments on matters of concern to Or Young and any other interested parties regarding proposed storm drainage improve- ments that may affect or impact properties belonging to said parties Section 2 That the Council directs the Storm Drainage Board and staff to consider alternative means of providing for the needed storm drainage improvements while reducing the impacts on affected properties Section 3 That the Storm Drainage Board and staff provide a report and recommendations for approval by the Council on these matters before any funds are obligated to the acquisition of right-of-way or construction of improvements on properties other than those included in the Landmark SID Section 4 That the Council directs the Storm Drainage Board and staff to also evaluate the long range impacts on other developing proper- ties in the Canal Importation Basin and to develop or amend existing policies and procedures for construction of necessary storm drainage improvements within the basin Passed and adopted at a regular ing of the City Council held this 18th day of October, A D 1983 ATTEST May ) 0 City Clerk -2-
