OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE
POSTHUMOUSLY TO ELLEN PERRY THEXTON FOR HER
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, on September 28, 1983 , the Cultural Resources Board of
the City of Fort Collins adopted a Resolution expressing its appreciation
to Ellen Perry Thexton posthumously for her dedication and inspiration in
promoting the performing and visual arts program in the City and community
of Fort Collins, as well as in the State of Colorado and the Rocky Mountain
region, and
WHEREAS, Ellen Perry Thexton was a creative force behind the origin
and the development of a long list of visual and performing arts programs
in this community, and
WHEREAS, the continuation of these programs, with the ensuing benefits
to everyone in our community, will provide a living tribute to Ellen Perry
Thexton throughout the years to come, and
WHEREAS, Ellen Perry Thexton served the City of Fort Collins in nany
capacities relating to the City' s Cultural Affairs programs, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins wishes to take this
opportunity to formally express its appreciation and gratitude to Ellen
Perry Thexton posthumously for her many contributions to this community
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, that the City Clerk be, and hereby is directed, to cause this
Resolution to be placed in the official minutes of the November 1, 1983
City Council meeting to provide an enduring record of the contributions
of Ellen Perry Thexton to the Fort Collins performing and visual arts
program
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins this 1st day of November, A D 1983
