OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF THE POUDRE RIVER TRUST
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins has received a proposal from E E
Mitchell 8 Co to establish a trust to be known as the Poudre River Trust
with stated public purposes and powers, and
WHEREAS, said Trust would, as a part of its purposes, consider the
development of the Poudre River near the downtown area of the City of
Fort Collins to enhance the river as an amenity, to optimize the recrea-
tional use of the river area, to enhance access thereto of the residents
and to assist in the City' s development along and in the area of the Cache
La Poudre River and the City of Fort Collins, and
WHEREAS, E E Mitchell 8 Co has provided a draft of a document
entitled "Indenture of Trust, Poudre River Trust," setting out the terms of
the Trust, including the names and appointment of the trustees, and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, recognizing the public benefit
which may be obtained from the establishment of the Poudre River Trust
intends hereby to recommend the establishment of such Trust
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City of Fort Collins recommends the formation of the
Poudre River Trust as proposed by E E Mitchell 8 Co , and further, the
City does hereby express its interest in cooperating with the Poudre River
Trust to obtain the public benefits available therefrom
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of
Fort Collins held this 15th day of Nov er, 1983
