OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND APPRECIATION TO
MARGARET (PEGGY) REEVES FOR HER
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY AS COUNCILMEMBER
WHEREAS, Margaret (Peggy) Reeves served as a Councilmember repre-
senting Council District No 3 from April 3, 1973 until April 5, 1977,
and
WHEREAS, Mrs Reeves was elected for a term representing the City at
large on April 10, 1979 and has served in that capacity until her resigna-
tion on December 31, 1982, following her successful election as State
Representative for House District 47, and
WHEREAS, Mrs Reeves has also contributed to this community through
her recent service on the Poudre Fire Authority Board of Directors, the
Board of Ethics, and the Airport Ad-Hoc Committee, and
WHEREAS, it is noteworthy that Mrs Reeves has also received recog-
nition beyond the local level for her Judgement and experience, having been
selected, for example, to serve on the Land Use Commission, the Energy and
Environmental Policy Committee of the National League of Cities, and the
American Public Power Association Steering Committee, as well as numerous
committees of the Colorado Municipal League, and
WHEREAS, this period of time has seen great growth and change in the
City, and Margaret (Peggy) Reeves was called upon to devote substantial
time and energy to the affairs of the City of Fort Collins, and
WHEREAS, the people of the City have benefited greatly from the
services, counsel , and guidance of the said Margaret (Peggy) Reeves
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City express, on behalf of the residents of the community,
its formal and sincere appreciation and gratitude to Margaret (Peggy)
Reeves for her devotion and attention to the affairs of the City as Coun-
cilmember
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this
4th day of January, A D 1983
