HomeMy WebLinkAbout1981-004-01/20/1981-ASKING THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO INSURE THAT THE FUTURE LOTTERY PROFITS BE EARMARKED FOR PARKS AND RE RESOLUTION 81-4 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS ASKING THE STATE LEGISLATURE TO INSURE THAT THE FUTURE LOTTERY PROFITS BE EARMARKED FOR PARKS AND RECREATION PURPOSES WHEREAS, the voters of the State of Colorado, on November 4, 1980, approved a constitutional amendment to authorize a state-run lottery, and WHEREAS, the ballot and all promotional material designated the lottery proceeds for local parks and recreation projects, and WHEREAS, all proceeds from a lottery are to be directed to the Con- servation Trust Fund, and WHEREAS, the proceeds from the Conservation Trust Fund are to be used for the acquisition, development, and maintenance of new conservation sites, and WHEREAS, the amount of lottery proceeds are presently unknown NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, opposes any re-distribution of the Conservation Trust Fund pro- ceeds for purposes other than Parks and Recreation Passed and adopted el- a regular eeting of the Cit Council held this 20th day of January, A D 1981 ATTEST M 4"li, 'Y ity Clerk
