OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH THE FORT COLLINS MUNICIPAL
RAILWAY SOCIETY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TROLLEY
LINE ALONG WEST MOUNTAIN AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Society is presently restoring a trolley car which was in
operation as a part of the municipal railway of the City, and
WHEREAS, the Society desires to completely restore the trolley car to
a safe operating condition, and
WHEREAS, the Society has proposed to the City that the trolley line
formerly in place along the median of West Mountain Avenue be constructed
for the purpose of allowing operation of the trolley car, and
WHEREAS, the City desires to provide the opportunity for the Society
to operate the trolley car on the trolley line along West Mountain Avenue,
and
WHEREAS, by entering into the proposed construction agreement, the
Society and the City desire to provide an opportunity for residents and
visitors to observe, experience and appreciate an example of living history
of the City, and
WHEREAS, the proposed construction agreement provides that the City
will own the facilities constructed by the Society and enter into an
agreement with the Society for the operation of the trolley line
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an Agreement with the Fort Collins Municipal Railway Society for the
purpose of constructing a trolley line along West Mountain Avenue
