RESOLUTION 2009-110
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
MODIFYING THE SCHEDULE FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF
THE PROPOSED PILOT TRASH AND RECYCLING SERVICES DISTRICT
WHEREAS, on July 21, 2009, the City Council adopted Resolution 2009-075, which
directed the City Manager to carry out certain actions related to development of the proposed Pilot
Trash and Recycling Services District (the "Pilot District") more specifically described in the
Resolution; and
WHEREAS,among the actions to be taken by the City Manager was completion of a Request
for Proposals process for services with a trash hauler, and development of a proposed contract for
those services, along with a proposal for a trash and recycling collection services fee to be imposed
within the Pilot District, all to be reported to the City Council and presented for consideration no
later than December 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS,the City Manager has proceeded diligently to carry out the actions specified in
Resolution 2009-075, but further negotiations are required in order to fully develop the possible
contractual arrangements for service; and
WHEREAS, in order to allow for continued review,analysis and negotiation of the possible
contractual arrangements for services to the Pilot District, and to provide for full development of a
proposal that meets the expectations and intent of the City Council as described in Resolution 2009-
075, the City Manager has recommended that the schedule for City Council review of the City
Manager's proposal for the contract and fee for the Pilot District be modified; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager anticipates that the necessary work to prepare for further
reporting to and consideration by the City Council will be completed no later than February 16,
2010; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to allow for additional time for the City Manager to
prepare a proposal for City Council consideration.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OUORT
COLLINS that the schedule for further City Council consideration of the Pilot District,as described
in Resolution 2009-075,be modified to provide for completion of all actions no later than February
16, 2010.
