HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-029-04/04/1978-AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, STATE RESOLUTION 78-29 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, STATE OF COLORADO FOR THE PURPOSE OF UPGRADING HIGHWAY RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING PROTECTION IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins, pursuant to the Highway Safety Acts of 1973 and 1976 and regulations promulgated thereunder, is eligible for Federal funds for the purpose of eliminating hazards at certain highway/ railroad grade crossings by the installation of protective devices, and WHEREAS, the City has applied for such Federal funding, and WHEREAS, the City shall be responsible for payment of 10% of the total project cost, which amount is estimated to be $7,000, and WHEREAS, the State is obligated, under the terms of the Agreement, to administer the funds for said project and to coordinate the work involved in the project, and WHEREAS, it is the determination of the Council of the City of Fort Collins that said project is in the best interests of the City NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, that the City Manager and City Clerk be, and they hereby are, authorized and directed to enter into the above-described Agreement with the State Department of Highways, Division of Highways, State of Colorado Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held this 4th day of April , A D 1978 Mayor ATTEST Ci yCer ,
