HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-009-01/22/1980-AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS FOR UPGRADING PCSOLLTIO ] 80-9 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS FOR UPGRADING HIGHWAYS/RAILROAD GRADE CROSSING PROTECTION AT EAST VINE DRIVE AND NINTH STREET IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS, pursuant to the Highway Safety Acts of 1973 and 1976 , Federal funds have been made available for the elimination of hazards at certain highway/railroad grade crossings, and WHEREAS , the railroad crossing at East Vine Drive and Ninth Street within the City of Fort Collins is eligible for such upgrading, and WHEREAS, the City and the State Department of Highways have agreed upon a program under which the sum of Sixty Nine Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy Seven Dollars ($69 , 877 00) shall be expended to upgrade the above-referenced railroad crossing, ninety percent of which amount will be borne by the Federal Highway Administration NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the City Manager be , and he hereby is , authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the State Department of Highways in order to implement an upgrading of the railroad crossing at East Vine Drive and Ninth Street in the City of Fort Collins, under the terms of which the sum of Sixty *i_Lne inossdnd Eight Hundred and Scventy Seven Dollars ($69 , 87i 06) shall be expended with ninty percent of said amount to be borne by the Federal Highway Administration Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Fort Collins held this 22nd day of January A D 1980 ST A"° TCSAN-24ayor City Clerk
