COMMENDING CHIEF CITY PLANNER CURTIS E
SMITH FOR HIS WORK IN BRINGING ABOUT THE
ADOPTION OF THE FORT COLLINS URBAN GROWTH
AREA PLAN
WHEREAS, both the City of Fort Collins and Larimer County
have been troubled by the threat of unmanaged growth in the
greater Fort Collins regional area, and
WHEREAS, Chief City Planner Curtis E Smith, working with
his counterparts in the County, has been instrumental in the
creation and adoption of the Fort Collins Urban Growth Area
Plan; and
WHEREAS, now that said plan has been adopted by both the
City and County, the governmental entities involved are in a
better position to rationally guide and manage the continuing
growth in this region
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS that the City formally commend Chief Planner
Curtis E Smith for his vision and skill in bringing about the
adoption of the Fort Collins Urban Growth Area Plan.
Passed and adopted at a regular meeting of the Council of
the City of Fort Collins held this 20th day of May, A D. 1980
