OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF TWO AFFILIATE
MEMBERS TO THE LIBRARY BOARD
WHEREAS, Section 1 of Article XX of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins provides that the Library Board shall consist of five members
appointed by Council, and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to expand the membership of said Board to
seven and in furtherance thereof intends to submit a Charter amendment to
the voters of the City of Fort Collins at the next municipal election to
accomplish such purpose, and
WHEREAS, in the interim period prior to such election, the Council
desires to establish an affiliate membership to the Library Board
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
Section 1 There is hereby created an affiliate membership to the
Library Board consisting of two (2) affiliate members who shall be ap-
pointed by the City Council to serve for a period of one (1 ) year
Section 2 Such affiliate members shall be fully participating
members of the Library Board except that such members shall not have voting
privileges
Section 3 It is the intent of the Council that in the event the
voters of the City of Fort Collins approve at a municipal election a change
in the City Charter which would increase the size of the Library Board from
five to seven, the affiliate members herein appointed by Council shall be
deemed to be regular members of the Library Board with all rights and
privileges of such members and the affiliate membership to the Library
Board shall thereupon be terminated
